A VPN or proxy server doesn't serve traffic, it relays it. Every byte a user pushes through your service crosses your server twice: in from the user, out to the destination. That makes the workload symmetric and sustained, with thousands of small encrypted packets per second.
What makes a good relay server?

Four Things Your VPN or Proxy Node Actually Needs
A Full-Duplex Dedicated Port
Relay traffic is symmetric, so port math matters: our dedicated ports are full-duplex. A 1 Gbps port moves 1 Gbps in and 1 Gbps out simultaneously, so a relay sustaining 900 Mbps of user traffic fits on a 1 Gbps True-Unmetered plan and nothing gets halved. Ports scale from 100 Mbps to 20 Gbps at checkout.
CPU That Keeps Up With Encryption
Every packet through WireGuard, OpenVPN, or Shadowsocks is encrypted and decrypted on the CPU. High clock speeds move individual tunnels faster; more cores carry more concurrent users. Yes. Commercial VPN and proxy operators have run on Maple hardware for years. You operate the service and set its policies; we provide the metal, the network, and the IP space. Normal acceptable-use rules apply: abuse originating from your service is your responsibility to handle, and we'll loop you in when reports arrive.
You can add additional dedicated IPv4 addresses and a /64 IPv6 subnet as configuration options when ordering, and request more later through a support ticket as your endpoint inventory grows. IPv6 gives proxy operators an effectively unlimited address pool on day one.
For a private or team VPN with modest traffic, a metered plan's 100 TB allowance is generous, and only outgoing traffic is measured. For a commercial relay, traffic is sustained and grows with every user, so a True-Unmetered plan is the honest fit: flat pricing, a full-duplex dedicated port, and no month-end surprises. When in doubt, start unmetered at 1 Gbps and resize anytime.
Because relayed traffic crosses your server twice: in from the user, out to the destination. On a full-duplex port both directions run at the port's full rate simultaneously, so a 1 Gbps port genuinely sustains ~1 Gbps of relayed user traffic. Providers with shared or half-duplex uplinks effectively halve your capacity before you start.
You get full root access and we block no ports or protocols, so anything runs: WireGuard (our usual recommendation, kernel-space and multi-core friendly), OpenVPN, SoftEther, Outline/Shadowsocks, or Squid, 3proxy, and HAProxy on the proxy side. For CDN edge nodes, Varnish and nginx caching setups are common. Bring your existing images or build fresh; over 40 operating systems reinstall in minutes.
Every DMCA notice is reviewed against the actual legal requirements: proper identification, proof of authorization, good-faith statement.
